Dr. Lionel Petton
I have a technical background in polymer and formulation science. I started my career in R&D where, for several years, I led a team in charge of developing pigment dispersions for coating and inkjet inks in particular. In the end I was also responsible for the sourcing team. This experience gave me a broad overview of the inkjet value chain from the pigments and additives supply chain to the processes and skills required to manufacture high-performance inkjet dispersion and inks.
I then decided to work more closely with customers by becoming account manager in the chemical distribution of specialities, where I was able to gain commercial experience in a fast-paced environment.
Finally, I joined Cabot a couple of years ago, first in the Performance Additives division where I supported customers with their technical requests and in their new developments with regards to speciality carbons and fumed metal oxides. Earlier this year, I became Sr. Technical Services Manager in Cabot's inkjet division. I advise and assist customers in the selection of our water-based pigment dispersions. I am leading the innovation effort by focusing on understanding customer unmet needs and new market trends.
